Oggetti was founded in 1975 by Robert and Nancy Frehling. The Frehlings were already operating Nessa Gaulois in Miami, one of the finest gift, accessory and bridal stores. This  has informed their decision-making and product selection for Oggetti, keeping them always up-to-date and market-savvy.

Originally the entire collection was imported from Italy and marketed solely under the "Oggetti" trademark. In fact, the word "oggetti" means "objects" in Italian and is used to describe accessories for the home. In 1980 Oggetti began a furniture division, using "Tavola" as the trade name under the Oggetti umbrella. While many people attempt to copy Oggetti, they do so without the name of the artist, with objects often noticeably less attractive and rarely at better prices. Oggetti works closely with their stable of artists and craftsmen and continually strives to represent the best to their discerning customers.

LED Lighting - LED Tree Lighting for Special Occasions

LED Lighting

 New to the lighting scene is the LED lighting. An LED gives off pure light in a rainbow of colors. LED lights are energy efficient, bright and are cooler than traditional bulbs. Another great thing about LEDs is that each LED has its own light and is independent of others in a series. If one light on the strand goes out, the rest of them continue to work!

The most ingenious LED product Global Trends carries is the LED Tree Lighting. The great thing about LEDs is that they are extremely efficient. They also run cooler and last so much longer than traditional bulbs. However, I think my favorite thing about LEDs is that if one bulb burns out, the rest stay lit! How many times have you wrapped Christmas lights around a tree or your porch, have one go out, and then have no light?! These bulbs are so advanced you can replace them individually.

  

So many people have been raving about these trees! They are gorgeous LED trees, shaped like Cherry Blossoms, Willows, Orange, and Palm trees. In addition to the traditional style trees, Global Trends has a group of fiber optic LED trees as well. My favorite is definitely the huge green Christmas tree. A combination of green fiber optic LEDs and traditional Cherry Blossom LEDs, it is just begging to be covered in ornaments to reflect its light! Here as part of a limited edition, once they’re gone, they’re gone!

The attention to detail doesn’t end with the placement or technology in the lights. Each metal trunk is

not just painted, but wrapped in a rubberized “bark” that looks like the real thing, and protects the tree

from the elements.

Designed for indoor or outdoor usage, the trees come with their own electrical transformer. The trees

Padauk Wood Tiles

Recently, one of our Clients, who is an an avid outdoorsman wanted to completely renovate his home. He would much rather fill his free time by hiking in the forest rather than walking city sidewalks.  During his home renovation, one of his dining room walls was taunting me with its blankness, as if something was missing.  It was just begging me to add something interesting. 

Padauk Square Wood Tiles

Since this was his dining room, I wanted to make sure his wall reflected his personality as well as provided him with a conversation starter. Keeping this in mind, I looked at several styles of wood tiles before settling on the Padauk. I selected our exotic collection of 3D wood tiles which comes in a variety of wood types. The ones that were selected for this project were Padauk Elongeated-001~7 and Padauk Square-001~5 

Small or large, light to dark, you name it and I looked at it. We have wide range of choices for wood tiles at Global Trends.  Sheets of tiles from pine to oak!  Thin veneers!  Different patterns!  The simple tiles start at around $30/sf, definitely worth checking out.

At Global Trends, we have plenty of options with wood tiles. Wood tiles are hand pieced, multi-level and have great texture.  The recycled wood tiles can be custom ordered in a range of sizes, and start about $39/sf.  Also, since the wood is hand-pieced, the tiles can be any height!  The ones that I personally suggested for this project were the Padauk tiles because the colors range from very light to dark, yet they play off each other beautifully. They’re perfect for any home or business that wants to blur the line between inside and outside.  The large piece I used as my inspiration at Global Trends was a wall piece framed in brick and glass tiles.

3 Dimensional Wood Tiles

3 Dimensional wood tiles from Global Trends are perfect when your space needs some texture, and visual interest. The 3D wood tiles are made up of various types of wood as per customer specifications and requirements. The popular wood tile categories that are readily available with us come in paddock, oak, walnut, and many more wood species.

The unique composition of these tiles makes them durable and resistant to moisture. Wood tiles are built on a substrate that is resistant to moisture, with a hardwood core and beautiful wood overlay that comes in a variety of colors to match any décor.  You can use these tiles as wall covering, flooring, or furniture covering in living rooms, dining rooms and even bathrooms.

These 3D wood tiles come in brick format, square shape design and some random patterns. Each wood chip can be made as small as 1 inch by 1 inch to 4 inch by 4 inch or as per customer specification. The thickness of each wood chip varies due to being 3 dimensional but could be as small as 1/2 inch to 4 inches thickness.  The tiles do not need any grout and need to be glued on the wall. The lead time for the wood tiles are 4 weeks. The wood tiles come in the price range of 29 dollars to 49 dollars per square feet.

3D Exotic Wood Tile come in small mosaic wood pieces are hand placed on each tile, giving each a dramatic, 3D appearance. Each tile is unique, with interesting color and height variation.  The result is a wall (or column, or window frame) that is not uniform, but definitely complementary.  Tiles are 12”x12”, and due to the moisture resistant substrate, can be used in any interior application.
