How to Install Coconut Mosaic Tiles and Panels

COCOMOSAIC panels are natural and suitable for use in indoor environments. It can be applied/installed easily. You don't need to be an expert to bring exotic look into your home. It can be applied to masses of walls, ceilings and even light traffic flooring.

Steps

  1. Adapting to temperature - Open the boxes for 24 hours before installation to let the tiles adapt to the installation temperature.
  2. Preparing the tools - Prepare the tools and equipments. The glue that you need is silicon sealant for use in glass, windows, ceramics etc.
  3. Pre-installation cleaning - Clean up the walls and ceilings that you want the panels to be applied.
  4. Applying the glue - Apply the silicone glue on the panel’s back-side surface, to form in 8 x 8 even grids.
  5. Pasting the panels - Paste coconut panel onto the wall and press it for 5 seconds to make sure all the panel’s backside is flatten against the wall. For the next panel, make sure that its position is well aligned with the previous ones.
    • You may give a spacing gap of 3 mm between the tile for grout (if you don’t use grout, you leave the spacing gaps to 1-2 mm)
  6. Fill up the gaps - When done, use grout to fill up the spacing gaps.
    • Use sealant if you choose spacing gaps of 1-2 mm
    • Remove unnecessary overflows by damped clothes.
  7. Finishing touch - If coconut panels are too big and need to be cut, tear along a glued joint, and then use a grinder to shorten further to the desired size.

Tips

  • We recommend Dow Corning sealant as the preferred glue.
  • Coco-mosaic panels are easy to clean and maintain.
  • Clean regularly with a mop or by vacuum cleaner.

Metal Drapery Is a Clean Line for the Contemporary Spaces (Guest Post)

It would be nice to have a separation and a design element in your dining area without losing the light. I have noticed many ideas being shared in many blog sites showing dividing Living and Dining spaces using a commercial-grade chain-link "curtain" which allows light to pass through, yet defines each area to add intimacy. There is always more fabric and traditional drapery than contemporary design. The moldable metal and clean line drapery has always been designer forte. Different textures, 3 dimensional systems and woven metal fabrics have fueled the imagination of architects, designers and other creative people around the world.

I love metal curtains as room divider with a contemporary look. Chain drapery is another ideal form of curtain substitution.
Metal Curtains
Curtain wall, chain mill curtain, bead curtain, metal curtain, beaded curtain and metal drapery are all great for modern simple design. Try building a soffit to create separation of the space. Add beaded curtain or chain link from soffit to make the large room 3 dimensional with clean lines.

Other ideas include blending from outside to inside with the stainless steel chain drapery.

Cover the kitchen palate or a storage wall with contrasting material such as metal fabric.

I have purchased my coil drapery after researching for the best pricing and a good customer service.       Many domestic companies and chin website such as cascade and shimmer screen offers good quality drapery but I did my purchase from globaltrendsbuildingsupply.com which had the shortest leading time and lowest pricing which was more favorable to my budget.  Another great advantage for this company was the fact all their draperies come assembled and ready to be mounted to the ceiling.  Since I got the best service I decided to share my knowledge via my blog. I am excited to have my contractor to mount the brackets and hang the drapery but my new construction is not finished. In my next blog I will post my pictures to share with others.

Experience on Alabaster Resin Panels (Guest Post)

I was in a new restaurant in Chicago last month where I saw some unique features grabbing my eyes the entire night. As I entered the bar area immediately noticed the translucent panels which looked like alabaster stone. So unique, simple and trendy! I could not keep my eyes away from the bar the entire time I was in this restaurant. Being as curious I was, decided to ask for the designers' name and their website (blockhouse.com).  There I found my dream bar picture featured as one of their newest projects. Further investigation and research led me to find more about some new ideas and modern furnishing. Now, I am sharing with you the information I gathered while I spoke to the designer.  The supplier of the material used in this restaurant is globaltrendsbuildingsupply.com. This online company has a show room in Kansas while selling all their materials worldwide.
