Metal Drapery Is a Clean Line for the Contemporary Spaces (Guest Post)

It would be nice to have a separation and a design element in your dining area without losing the light. I have noticed many ideas being shared in many blog sites showing dividing Living and Dining spaces using a commercial-grade chain-link "curtain" which allows light to pass through, yet defines each area to add intimacy. There is always more fabric and traditional drapery than contemporary design. The moldable metal and clean line drapery has always been designer forte. Different textures, 3 dimensional systems and woven metal fabrics have fueled the imagination of architects, designers and other creative people around the world.

I love metal curtains as room divider with a contemporary look. Chain drapery is another ideal form of curtain substitution.

Curtain wall, chain mill curtain, bead curtain, metal curtain, beaded curtain and metal drapery are all great for modern simple design. Try building a soffit to create separation of the space. Add beaded curtain or chain link from soffit to make the large room 3 dimensional with clean lines.

Other ideas include blending from outside to inside with the stainless steel chain drapery.

Cover the kitchen palate or a storage wall with contrasting material such as metal fabric.

I have purchased my coil drapery after researching for the best pricing and a good customer service.       Many domestic companies and chin website such as cascade and shimmer screen offers good quality drapery but I did my purchase from globaltrendsbuildingsupply.com which had the shortest leading time and lowest pricing which was more favorable to my budget.  Another great advantage for this company was the fact all their draperies come assembled and ready to be mounted to the ceiling.  Since I got the best service I decided to share my knowledge via my blog. I am excited to have my contractor to mount the brackets and hang the drapery but my new construction is not finished. In my next blog I will post my pictures to share with others.

Metallic Drapery - Metallic Coils and Metallic Sequins

Ask a contemporary architect about drapes, and you’ll get a sneer and an eye roll.  Long seen as stodgy and “old,” drapery gets a makeover with metallic coils and sequindrapery.  The worst part about drapes is that they can remind people of their Grandmother’s house!

I found these coiled curtains and have come up with so many different uses for them.  I’ve used them as quick dividers (mounted on a track with S-Hooks) for large rooms, Curtains to block light, Privacy for outdoor patios, and I’ve even used the smallest gauge loops for a shower curtain!. Sequins don’t always have to scream pizzazz.  Used as a full curtain, the drapes pool under the window like a shimmery reflecting pond.   I’ve found a couple of other great uses for these drapes.  In a retail store, I’ve covered whole walls, and used hooks to hang garments for sales or displays.  I think my most favorite way to use this drape is to cover buffet tables with it.

Stack books or boxes at different levels, then cover with a table cloth and drape with the sequins.  The levels display buffet items attractively, and the sequins attract attention and add just the right touch.View our collection of Metallic sequins.
